SLAKER

Dear blog and readers of the blog,
I am so sorry that I haven't been posting. I haven't totally decided whether or not I am going to abandon the January challenge or not yet... I guess we will have to wait and see.
Life has been pretty boring and I've been pretty sick, so there hasn't been much too blog about.
I pinky promise I will be back soon.
Until then...

DAY 5

Day 5-Your Definition of Love
sorry, no picture today.

Now this is a hard question. It's hard to some up what I think love is into words. If you would have asked me this question about 2 years ago, I would have had no clue how to answer. Although I am having a hard time putting words together now, I feel like I have a pretty good idea of what love truly is. I looked up the definition of love and this is what I found.
love
ləv/
noun
  1. 1.
an intense feeling of deep affection

I totally agree with the definition above, but there is more to love than just what the internet says. In my opinion there are different types of love. There is the love you feel for your family. There is the love you feel for you friends. There is the love you feel towards a place or food type. etc. Out of all the different types of love, I feel like there is one type that stands above the rest. The love you feel for the person whom you're in love with.

I am head over heels for my boy and I know I love him. How do I know? Well, that's an easy one. I know I love Davis because I would do anything for him. He supports me in everything I do and I support him. He is there for me when no one else is. He gives me the best advice and genuinely wants what's best for me. He knows everything about me, I can tell him all my secrets and I have.
I feel like when someone trusts you enough to share their whole selves with you, that is love. Davis has trusted me with the most precious aspects of his life and I trust him with mine.
When you love someone you put your whole heart into doing everything and anything to make them smile. I try my hardest everyday to make Davis happy and he does the same for me. His proves to me everyday that he loves me and I have no doubts about it.

This to me is true love. Love makes me feel happy, sad, angry, excited, nervous, and so much more, but it's all worth it. The feeling of love is something that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

I love you all.

DAY 4

Day 4-What You Ate Today

Today I went out to lunch with Davis and my mama. Before heading the restaurant I remembered that today for the photo challenge I had to post a picture of what I ate today, but once I got there I spaced the picture... So instead of 'what I ate today' I'll show you where I ate today!

We ate at this cute little Mexican restaurant called Taco Burrito. It is right next to Farr's by the University Mall and movie theater. I would recommend you try it out! I got cheese enchiladas and they were so yummy. We also got a side of guacamole for the chips and if you like good guac, you'll love theirs.

JANUARY PHOTO A DAY (DAYS 1-3)

I saw this photo a day challenge on my girlfriend's blog and decided that I want to take it on. Even though I am 3 days behind, I am going to just make up for lost time and post days 1-3 right now. YAY!

Day 1-Introduce Yourself

I am Erika Ann Mouritsen, born and raised in Utah. I am 18 years young. I graduated from Orem High School in 2013. I am a dancer. I love to choreograph and teach dance. I love good food and a good movie. I am crazy in love with a boy named Davis. I currently am living life day by day and loving it.

Day 2-Your First Love

This right here is my current and first love. He has taught me so much about life. He has helped form me into the person I am today. I am CRAZY in love with this guy and I couldn't be happier. We've been together for one year and seven months now and it's been the best time of my life. He is the greatest boyfriend a girl could ask for and I don't know how I managed to get so lucky, but I am so thankful that I did. I LOVE YOU DAVIS CHANDLER ELISON.

Day 3-Your Parents

This is my mother Shelle. She is a great mom and is always there to support me. I am so thankful for her and for everything she has done for me. She seriously is a super mom. She is married to my step dad, Jeff, who is my second dad. He is amazing and I am also thankful for him.

This is my dad Eric (and my sister Laci). He lives in Nevada and we don't get to see each other often, but I am thankful for the times I do get to see him. Even though he isn't around, he still does all he can to be a great dad.

This January photo a day is going to be fun and I can't wait to post tomorrow.
Until then, XOXO!

TEMPLE SQUARE

Tonight Davis, Bubba, Rhylee, and I went to see the lights up at Temple Square in Salt Lake! Even though it was pretty nippy outside, we had a fun time walking around Temple Square, City Creek, and the streets of downtown. This our second year going up to Temple Square together as a group. It's always a good time with these people. I feel so blessed to know them.

WHITE CHRISTMAS

Grandpa Elison, Grandma Elison, Adam, his date Kate, Pendleton, Julie, Dale, Grandma Johnson, D, Sam, and I
On Saturday Davis and I went with his family to see his aunt, Becky, in a musical called "White Christmas". Before the show we went out to eat in Bountiful at a Chinese place called Mandarin. Dale and Julie (Davis parents) stumbled across this place years ago and have been going there ever since. It was so yummy! We ordered a lot of food (family style) and went to work.

After dinner we headed over to the show house to watch the musical. Becky did an amazing job and the production was really good. (The only negative thing about it was that it pretty dang long... two and half hours.)
It was a really fun night with some fun company!
Sorry for the blurry photos. Some people aren't the best with phone cameras...

TOO GOOD

Yesterday was such a great day. There wasn't one thing that I could complain about.
First off, I love Davis dearly.
He is always finding ways to make me smile. He's the greatest friend a girl could ask for. He's the reason yesterday was so amazing.
Second, Davis and I had a fun time Christmas shopping with each other. We got all the presents we needed and are set for Christmas morning. After we shopped, we met up with Davis' parents at the Riverwoods. They just flew in yesterday from Seattle and will be here for two weeks. D is super excited to see his family for Christmas, and so am I.

After hanging out with the parentals, we went over to Braden's (Davis' brother) house. We had a fun night hanging out and playing video games. Braden's roommate has the cutest dog. We were playing with and petting him all night long. It was a great time.

Tonight, we are going up to SLC with Davis' family. We are going to dinner with his dad's family and after we're seeing his mom's sister in a play called, "White Christmas." I'm so excited and there will definitely be a post to come.

NEGLECT

HELLO! Sorry I've been neglecting my little blog so much recently. Good news is that I'm alive! I'll be posting more these next few weeks. With Christmas right around the corner and Davis' family coming into town this Friday, I'm sure there will be much to blog about.
Now time for some randoms.
  1. I heard from my missionary best friend, Ellie, yesterday. She says the MTC is hard, but she is having a good time and making the most of it. I am proud of her and happy for her.
  2. Davis and I are doing great, as always.
  3. I've figured out my New Years Resolution(s).
  4. I hate the snow, still.
  5. I live in sweat pants. It's been hard for me to get ready lately because of how cold it is.
And that's about it. Until next time, xoxo!

SISTER ELLIE MADELEINE SMITH

On Tuesday night I said goodbye to my best friend for 18 months. Ellie will be serving as a missionary in Auckland, New Zealand speaking Mandarin Chinese. I am going to miss her so much! Ellie is my go to girl. She always has my back and is the kindest person I've ever met. Ellie is literally an angel. I am so lucky that she is my best friend. I am so happy for her and excited for her journey!
I am so grateful for dance. If it wasn't for dance, who knows if Ellie and I would have been friends. From ODC to traveling to Hong Kong, we've gained an amazing friendship through it all.
I LOVE YOU ELLS BELLS!

ANOTHER HALF YEAR MARK

Today marks another half a year with my babe, Davis. One and half years have flown by faster than I thought it possibly could. It feels just like yesterday we were starting to get to know each other. I am so grateful that I have Davis in my life. He has helped make me a better person. There isn't a day that goes by that Davis fails to tell me how much he loves and cares about me. He is always making me smile and laugh. He makes me feel special. He is truly AMAZING!

I am so excited to see what the next six months will bring for Davis and I.

Davis, I love you. You are an amazing man. I am so so SO lucky I get to call you mine. You make me so happy. Thank you for everything you do for me. Thank you for treating me like a princess, even when I don't deserve it. Thank you for your honestly and love. Mostly importantly, thank you for being you!! You are one the greatest, kindest, most caring, and loyal individuals I've ever met.

GOOD TIMES, GOOD COMPANY

I love spending time with quality people and having a good time. With Bubba and Rhylee, it's always a good time. I was introduced to B & R about a year and a half ago by Davis and I am so grateful! Bubba and Rhylee are two amazing people and I'm so lucky that they are my friends.

Here's to good friends and good times with them.
I love everyone in these pictures!
